I’ve been in the EEO/Affirmative Action/Diversity field for 23 years and have never seen more realistic, more thought-provoking videos on diversity. I was surprised at the attention to detail in the scripts. The videos suggested ways managers can start conversations over when they are headed in a dangerous direction. The videos also suggested simple ways that employees, who overhear insensitive language from co-workers, can say something in such a way as to avoid putting the offending individual on the defensive. This tool offers real solutions. Rather than have employees fumble their language in role plays, they can learn right from the video. The scenarios are varied and illustrate diversity dimensions that are not often included in diversity videos. This goes way beyond the race and gender issues.
