Q.
When does "workplace" extend
beyond the office or worksite?
A.

Legally, when we talk about refraining from inappropriate workplace behaviors, such as disrespectful jokes, we’re not referring to just the office or the jobsite, but to anyplace employees gather for work or work-related activities. This includes the cafeteria, a department holiday party, riding in the company truck or gathering at a restaurant to celebrate a coworker’s birthday.
